Chasing Omaha Top 25 – April 22, 2013

trewilliams

There’s quite a bit of movement, but not a lot of change in this week’s Chasing Omaha writers’ Top-25 Poll.

The Top-5 is filled with the same teams, though No. 4 Virginia jumped No. 5 Cal State Fullerton after a huge series sweep against No. 6 Florida State over the weekend.

No. 9 Mississippi State and No. 10 UCLA are not strangers to the Top-10 this season, and both move back in this week. The Bulldogs followed up last weekend’s sweep of Texas A&M with a series win over Auburn, while the Bruins pulled off an impressive series win over No. 7 Oregon, in Eugene.

No. 21 Stanford and No. 24 Florida return to the Top-25 this week. The Cardinal are back in after a series win over Arizona, while the Gators completed the long road back with their series win over Missouri.  Those two teams replaced Arizona and Clemson in the poll.

No. 12 North Carolina State and UCLA tied for the biggest jump in the poll this week, moving up four spots each. Kentucky nearly fell out of the poll, dropping five spots to No. 23 on the heels of a six-game losing streak.
